My family and I live in Carmel-by-the-Sea — three blocks from the beach, in a cottage that smells like cypress most mornings. My kids go to school here. The Peninsula isn't a service area to me; it's home.

For the last several years I co-founded a senior care logistics company, building software used by placement agents across the country. Along the way I came to understand how communities are licensed, how levels of care get priced, where families tend to get steered wrong, and what a good placement looks like a year later, when the boxes are unpacked and the photos are on the wall.

Eventually I wanted to be back at the kitchen table. There's a moment, usually somewhere around the second cup of coffee, when a daughter who's been holding everything together starts to talk about her father — and what she really needs is someone who has time to listen. Software can't do that part. So I came home to do it in person, on the Peninsula I know best.

These days I take on a handful of families at a time and walk through it with them properly. Families pay me nothing; communities cover a placement fee when the fit is right. If I think you should wait, I'll say so. If a place isn't going to work, I'll tell you that too — even when it costs me the call. That's the job, as far as I'm concerned.

How it works

A simple,
unhurried process.

No intake forms. No call center. Just a conversation, and as much time as you need to decide what's right.

We talk.

No cost, no pressure. Usually about an hour, in person at a quiet spot in Carmel — or by phone, if that's easier. I listen first. We figure out what you actually need.

ii.

I tour with you.

I personally accompany families to the communities that fit. I know the directors, the chefs, the night nurses. You'll see things you wouldn't see on your own.

iii.

You decide,
on your timeline.

No fees to families, ever. The community pays a placement fee if and when you choose them. Until then — and after — I'm a phone call away.

I work with families and communities from Marina down through Big Sur — a thirty-mile stretch I've come to know community by community. If you're outside this area, I'm glad to point you to the right fit.
